fall of yeezy (prices)
despite the fallouts that musician Kanye West had with mainstream brands such as Adidas, Gap & Balenciaga through his anti-semitic rants on social media, his merchandise still is seen on the feet of uber drivers, high schoolers, and moms with kids who are part-time resellers
personally (and quite unfortunately), majority of my sneaker resale portfolio consists of yeezys. kanye’s downfall was devastating at first to my prospect on every returning anything, but surprisingly I’ve had a few yeezys sell in the past month, so the demand is still there
while this may seem like the worst time to buy a pair of yeezys, if you genuinely like the comfort of the shoe and don’t mind the social tax of being that dude wearing yeezys in 2024, then this may actually be a great time to buy
while resale prices are generally around retail for most yeezy models on the secondhand market, adidas announced a 50% off sale for select yeezy models back in june, and i suspect that they will continue to include more styles in their price reduction in order to liquidate all their previous collaborative history with mr. west

remnants of kanye’s life work can also be found in his Gap collaboration, which is currently made available by Los Angeles Archive, a shell brand for Los Angeles Apparel, who probably bought out the leftover inventory after it was frantically pulled off shelves
although much of this inventory lacks the branding of his first collaboration with Gap or the proportions of his collaboration with Balenciaga, the pieces below are great prices for basics and seem to be much better quality than his recent Vultures merchandise, which is also similarly priced
if you’ve ever wanted to wear a zip hoodie like kanye wears a zip hoodie, i guess this is a dream come true for some previous version of yourself — just don’t end up looking like the model below

if you’re still reading this, just know that somewhere in germany there’s probably about $200 million dollars worth of yeezys just collecting dust and reminiscing of the days when it was the #1 selling sneaker on stockx
share this with someone who won’t spend more than $100 on sneakers or $20 on a t-shirt
