clothing youtubers on the come up

style influencers to be influenced by

when you think of fashion related content nowadays, you may think short form, get-ready-with-me, wardrobe essentials, what to buy, what not to buy…

truthfully, there’s a flurry of content related to fashion since it’s a pretty popular and relatable niche. but in recent years, the content of fashion has decentralized from magazines & malls to individuals that pump out content and wares all over the social platforms that we frequent daily

with more valuable information and relevant options, the expectations of how you present yourself are also higher. so for this week we’re highlighting a few sartorial thought leaders to help further our list of collective fashion resources—even though this isn’t a sale post, I find that videos like these can help me better understand other perspectives on fashion and make more informed decisions about clothing purchases

Percia Verlin

a girl in new york aspiring to dress like a japanese city boy, percia’s usually content starts with the question, how? (how do i style this jacket with these pants? how can i be inspired by a certain aesthetic?) and substantively dives into the why’s behind fashion (self-expression, philosophy, existentialism)

in a niche currently defined by the term “get-ready-with-me,” it’s actually refreshing to hear from another individual articulating why they dress the way that they do instead of just discovering what they are wearing. an ai summary of her content would probably be something like: well-spoken podcaster woman talks about what’s in her gender-neutral wardrobe

Frugal Aesthetic

coming into a slightly more aggressive narrative style of his own, frugal aesthetic started with videos about budget friendly wardrobe staples & explaining fashion trends but is now pumping out videos that hate on fashion trends & offer generalized advice via internet slang

regardless, his video content, while repetitive (a 12 minute video can usually be summarized in two main points, three really drawn out analogies and a squarespace ad), is still enjoyable for a background watch while cooking or washing dishes. just make sure to wear headphones because the audio be jarring to any bystander without significant levels of brainrot

Wisdom Kaye

short form content is a little less informational, and more inspirational, and wisdom’s videos really min-max on this facet of our shortened attention spans

while he doesn’t have much long form content online yet, his editing is far superior than any capcut video from your typical fashion influencer. pair that with creative video ideas + aspirational outfit execution and the product is a video you’ll be looping through multiple times

hope you found a new electronic babysitter to help you re-think your wardrobe while your wallet takes a break this week

we’ll be back with more sale blasts throughout next week with the annually scheduled programming of black friday & cyber monday. like & subscribe for more
